It was a huge relief for Sarah Tomick and Jason Satz when they found a Chicago venue that perfectly matched their beautiful wedding vision. Galleria Marchetti’s elaborate garden and four-season outdoor tented pavilion were the perfect palette for all their elegant garden wedding design ideas.
Our team loved adding Sarah and Jason’s personal touches and details to our unique event spaces. But our favorite part was seeing how it all came together to foster plenty of joy and unforgettable moments on Saturday, September 17th.
Sarah and Jason’s 262 guests were immediately whisked away by the garden atmosphere and impeccable service when they arrived at Galleria Marchetti. While their wedding party stepped out of a Windy City Limo party bus, other guests enjoyed fantastic valet service, and both were greeted by a beautiful welcome sign adorned with the brilliant greenery that flowed throughout their wedding décor.
At 5:30pm, guests gathered in Il Cortile (The Courtyard) for a gorgeous theater-style ceremony. White garden chairs and a naturally beautiful unity table set the scene for an idyllic fall wedding ceremony. Add in the string quartet played by Wellington Strings and Galleria Marchetti’s courtyard was the serene and enchanting ceremony space that Sarah and Jason always imagined.
At the conclusion of Sarah and Jason’s touching ceremony, guests enjoyed a fantastic array of drinks and passed hors d’oeuvres in the very same lush courtyard where Sarah and Jason tied the knot. The ability to use this space for the ceremony and cocktail hour shows the wonderful versatility of Galleria Marchetti’s five event spaces.
With an iPod-equipped sound system and flawless service in place, guests were able to start celebrating right away. At the open bar, they found fine wines like chardonnay and pinot noir. And while guests expect to find such wines at Galleria Marchetti, we also had a surprise in store—Sarah and Jason’s unique signature cocktail.
Both butler-passed and available from the bar, Sarah and Jason’s “Dark and Stormy” signature cocktail was a hit with guests. Ginger beer and dark rum served on the rocks in a highball glass and garnished with a lime wedge is hard to resist! And it was also the perfect pair to these delicious passed hors d’oeuvres:
At 7pm, guests stepped into Il Padiglione (The Pavilion)—our tented structure that provides a fresh outdoor feel with additional comfort. To continue the garden theme, tables and chairs were decorated with crisp greenery and a creative place card board was set up by Life in Bloom.
With beautiful ivory linens, gorgeous candles and impressive crystal chandeliers, this reception space exuded elegance. Add in the pre-set sparkling wine toast and the old-world European charm that fills Galleria Marchetti and it’s no wonder guests easily settled in for a wonderful plated dinner.
With one of our custom designed menus and unlimited table wine service of cabernet and sauvignon blanc, it is no surprise that guests really enjoyed our dinner service. With more than 75 years in the food industry, our team’s passion for authentic Italian food shined bright. From the caprese salad to the herb crusted sliced filet of beef paired with Branzino and served with fingerling potatoes and asparagus, guests were quite content.
And while nearly all guests were delighted by Sarah and Jason’s choice of entrées, we made sure those with unique needs were equally satisfied. One of the vegetarian guests enjoyed our scrumptious eggplant parmesan while children went for our tasty pasta with red sauce.
When dinner service wrapped up, spectacular desserts rolled in. An exquisite wedding cake from Bittersweet was stationed on a small round table and cut for guests to enjoy in two flavors. Add in the chef’s sweets table as well as coffee and tea service and every guest found the treat they desired.
With our staff servicing guests at the open bar and Ashley La Fleur setting out late-night bites, guests had no shortage of energy throughout the reception. Whether dancing to the Chicago Catz band or grabbing a picture by the ivy wall, there were plenty of smiles and special moments for Christy Tyler Photography and Kevin Schmalandt to capture.
